Youth Baseball and Soccer Registration

City of Newton issued the following announcement on February 14.

NEWTON, NC (Feb. 14, 2022)—Registration for youth baseball and soccer at the Newton Parks and Recreation Department is under way.

Registration for Cal Ripken Baseball is open to boys and girls 4-12 years old and runs through April 1. Players must be at least 4 years old by April 1 and not turn 13 before May 1.

Registration for Babe Ruth Baseball is open to boys 13-18 years old and runs through May 6. Players must be at least 13 years old by May 6 and not turn 19 before May 1.

Registration for Spring Soccer is open to boys and girls 4-16 years old and runs through April 1. Players must be at least 4 years old by April 1 and not turn 17 before Aug. 31.

A limited number of spaces is available in each of the above sports. Once a league is full, registrants will be placed on a waiting list.

To register for any of the above sports, each child must meet the following requirements:

» Have emergency medical treatment and consent forms notarized and on file.

» Have a signed waver/release for communicable diseases including COVID-19 on file.

» Have a signed parental code of ethics on file.

» Provide proof of residency. If applicable, pay a $30 non-refundable non-resident fee.

» Return loaned equipment from a previous sport.
