Catawba County issued the following announcement on April 5.
Offices: Catawba County Government offices will be closed Friday, April 15 and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Monday, April 18.
Parks: The Catawba County Park System (Bakers Mountain, Riverbend and St. Stephens) will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. throughout the holiday weekend.
Libraries: All Catawba County Library System branches (Newton, Claremont, Conover, Maiden, Sherrills Ford-Terrell, Southwest and St. Stephens) will be closed Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17. The Newton, Sherrills Ford-Terrell, Southwest and St. Stephens branches will reopen Monday, April 18 at their usual times. The Claremont, Conover and Maiden branches will reopen Tuesday, April 19 at noon.
Animal Shelter: The Catawba County Animal Shelter will be closed to the public starting Friday, April 15 and will reopen Tuesday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. following its usual schedule.
Public Health/StarMed: Catawba County Public Health will be closed Friday, April 15 and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Monday, April 18. StarMed will be open at Public Health Friday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for drive-through COVID-19 testing.
Solid Waste: The Blackburn Sanitary Landfill will be open following its usual schedule. The Blackburn Construction & Demolition Landfill will be closed Friday, April 15, and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16. All solid waste and recycling convenience centers (Blackburn, Bethany Church Road, Cooksville, Oxford and Sherrills Ford) will be open following their usual schedules.
