Lincoln County elementary school students will return to the classrooms Tuesday, Oct. 13, ending the COVID-19 shutdown.
The board of education approved a reopening plan for five-day per week in-person instruction this month, WBTV 3 reported in September.
Students will start attending in-person school four days the first week. They will then resume a full five-day week, called ‘Plan A,” on Monday, Oct. 19, WBTV 3 reported.
“By moving to Plan A, students will receive the much-needed face to face instruction each school day,” Lincoln County Schools Superintendent Lory Morrow said, the WBTV 3 reported. “Technology is a fabulous tool that reinforces digital teaching and learning, but it is not intended to replace a dynamic classroom teacher.”
Families who don’t want their children to return to the classroom will be able to remain on ‘Plan 3” but are required to obtain a doctor’s recommendation to continue remote learning beyond Oct. 19, WBTV 3 reported.
