Rep. Jay Adams (R-Catawba) thanked his supporters after it was clear that he would be reelected to represent District 96.
"I am truly grateful for the support of my fellow citizens of Catawba County in this victory," Adams said in a Nov. 4 Facebook post. "Each term in the Legislature opens the door for new opportunities, and I look forward to a fourth term eager to continue advancing the interest of District 96, Catawba County, the greater Catawba Valley region and the State of North Carolina."
Adams won the seat with 63.04% of the vote, with his opponent, Kim Bost tallied 36.96% of ballots, based on unofficial election results from the state.
"I also want to thank all of the people that contributed to my campaign and all of the 'worker bees' that made this victory possible," Adams said in the post. "I especially want to recognize my campaign manager that worked tirelessly, crafted materials, ads, organized poll workers and kept me in line. She is my best friend, my partner and my wife… Donna."
