Catawba County Schools issued the following announcement on August 26.
The USDA's free breakfast and lunch program with continue for all K-12 students through the 2021-22 school year. With that assistance already in place, we still encourage families who would likely qualify for free/reduced-priced meals to apply.
This application may be used to qualify families for other benefits such as P-EBT, FCC-EBB, waived fees for ACT/SAT, college applications, academic fees, and other programs.
If your child was receiving benefits in a Catawba County School at the end of the 20-21 school year you will need to reapply by the following date to avoid a lapse in benefits:
Challenger students - September 21, 2021
All other students - October 4, 2021
Some examples of additional programs that your family may benefit from if you qualify for free or reduced-priced meals:
School/classroom fees waived
Discounts for internet services
P-EBT cards
Waived fees for ACT/SAT, college applications, academic fees, etc.
