Board of Education Meeting

Meeting 07

Catawba County Schools issued the following announcement on January 13.

Catawba County Board of Education is holding an emergency meeting on January 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Catawba County Schools Administrative Services building, located at 2285 N Anderson Ave, Newton, NC 28658. The meeting will be held in the boardroom.

The purpose of the meeting is Consideration of Current COVID-19 Data and Vote as Required by Senate Bill 654, Part X, Local Face Covering Policies Section 10.

In the event that a board member needs to attend virtually, their participation will be televised at the meeting.

This is a public meeting and members of the public are invited to attend, however, public attendance is subject to the following current health emergency directives:

No person should attend the meeting if the person is sick and especially if they are experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19 as set forth by the CDC.

You can find details of this meeting, including the public notice that was provided to the media, on the Board of Education page on our website.

Please note: During this evening's emergency board meeting, the board will not be conducting a public hearing or public comment section. The public is allowed to attend the meeting, however, seating will be limited to the board room only.  North Carolina state law requires local school boards to only provide one public comment period per month at a regular meeting which will occur at the Board of Education regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on January 24, 2022. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we all work through these very challenging times.
