Face Coverings Required

Catawba County Schools issued the following announcement on January 14.

During this evening’s Emergency Board of Education meeting, the Catawba County Board of Education (BOE) voted in favor to make face masks mandatory for all staff, students, and visitors while inside our facilities and on our school buses, beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2022, under the same policy previously enacted. The BOE will vote again on the mask policy at their regular meeting on Monday, January 24.

Superintendent Stover updated the BOE with the latest COVID-19 positive cases in staff and students and resulting quarantines, which have risen significantly over the past two weeks. School staffing challenges were also shared with the Board as increasing numbers of staff are quarantined or isolated. You can see our daily COVID-19 totals on our COVID-19 dashboard on our website.

Catawba County Schools will continue to participate in the ABC Collaborative "Test to Stay" Study. For more information regarding Test to Stay, click here.
