Summer 2022 P-EBTThe information below is about the summer 2022 P-EBT benefits in North Carolina. Summer P-EBT is an extension of the school year 2021-22 program, however eligibility is simplified. The Summer P-EBT benefit is a one-time payment of $391 for all eligible students and young children to cover the entire summer period (June, July, and August).View the full Summer Eligibility Notice here:  https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/media/4371/download?attachmentStudent Eligibility for Summer P-EBTTo be eligible for Summer P-EBT, a student must be approved for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) free or reduced-price meals (FRP). Students may also become eligible during the summer period if they apply for NSLP FRP meals by Aug. 31, 2022 and are approved.Students can meet the eligibility criteria for Summer P-EBT in one of two ways:Student was eligible for free or reduced-price (FRP) meals through the National School Lunch Program or attended a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school (schools where all students are eligible for FRP meals) in May 2022, ORStudent applies for free or reduced-price (FRP) meals through the National School Lunch Program during the summer by Aug. 31, 2022 and is approved. This includes FRP meal eligibility determined by direct certification with Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) participation.How to ApplyFor an application or more information on how to apply for free or reduced-price meals, please contact your student’s school or local school district.
