Happy Arts in Education Week! Today we are highlighting Art teacher Brooke Russell.
She has been teaching art since 2004. She has taught all ages from pre-k through college level in many different settings such as after school outreach programs, private lessons, public schools, summer camps and with Winthrop University Continuing Education program. She has a Bachelors in Art education from Western Michigan University and a Masters in Art Education from East Carolina University. She specializes in Drawing and Watercolor but her family keeps her busy these days. Brooke sponsors the National Art Honors Society Club at North which is planning a mural project for the cafeteria. She is somewhat new to the area, having just moved to Newton at the end of 2019. She enjoys music festivals, camping, and gardening when not involved with school.
